Let me tell you a story

Writer: Ling LingLing Ling

I never thought it would happen to me....

I am trying to gather my thoughts, so that I can share with you what happened to me during my trip to Asia.

I am a true true crime fanatic, I don't know why I am intrigued by it all, I just am. They say most people experience things at least once in their life time.

Well, I guess it was my turn. One night in Phuket Thailand, Q and I decided to go out for drinks and see what the famous Bangla Rd was all about. When you first enter its pure chaos, so much to see, locals trying to round you up to sit at their bar or go see a "ping pong event"....yah that's another story. Next time, I'll tell you about that next time. Thailand is known for layboys and the redlight district, you get the picture? Of course it's not all about that, unless you are looking for that. Thailand is beautiful, the people are amazing, the food is spectacular and the beaches leave you speechless.

Ok back to my story, we are on Bangla Rd and we choose to sit in the bar that has the least amount of people, where there isn't loud music, just a cute small lounge. Q orders his regular go to drinks and I order a non alcoholic drink. The night is going well, great conversations, the girls are working are making sure we are taken care of.

We decide to order a shot of tequila, as the night goes on. The girls bring it out we toast we take the shot. Surprisingly an hour later I am feeling great and not drunk. Now I mentioned before I am a cheap drunk, that 1 shot would have made me feel tipsy, but I was clear headed and having a great time.

Keep in mind, its about 9pm and Q knows my max is about 11pm, so he askes me if I'm ok and that he will have 1 more beer then we call it a night. Just then 2 guys walk in, and they are familiar with the staff they go to the back of the bar and next thing I know rounds of shots are being distributed to everyone in the bar. Our girl puts our shots on the table, and from inside the bar the 2 guys that walked in make a toast. I look at Q and say, "babe is this ok? should we drink this?" he assures me everything is fine. I take the shot, its fruity, it's one of those shots that have more juice than alcohol in it.

I'll say 20 minutes went by, and I start to feel strange, my body gets cold and everything around me speeds up. I say to Q, something is off. Then my body goes into a state of epilepsy, and then everything around me goes into slow motion. I turn to Q and tell him again, "somethings not right, its the drink, I think I have been drugged." I can hear Q tell me, its ok, I'm here, just breathe. Immediately I lose all consciousness. I'm not sure how long I was out, but when I came to my heart was beating out of my chest, my body was lifeless, I could barely see who or what was around me and everything was still in slow motion. I thought I was going to die, all I could think about was my daughter. I knew very well it was a bad situation, and I had to make sure we make it back to our hotel safely. So with every cohesive strength I had in me, I said to Q we have to go, we have to make sure I do not look like how I feel. I knew someone at the bar had roofied my drink and the worst was yet to come.

Everyone saw me go out like a light, I really thought I was going to die, not just from the drink but because I knew my seizures were going to be bad. Our hotel was just a 10 minute walk so I knew I had to get up and make sure I was ok, that Q was ok. All I could think was who is going to harm us, who is going to hurt Q and have their way with me? The fighter in me was not having it, no f-ing way! Deep down I knew one of these girls had something to do with this, or the 2 guys that bought everyone a round of shots. I stood up with Qs help and we hustled ourselves as fast as we could back to the hotel.

So I'll have to continue on my next post...it's getting too much.
